Research Timelines

The GME Research Department is dedicated to ongoing support of resident and faculty scholarly activity and research. Please see the following expectations for project turnaround times.

We have full access to all subscribed databases and the National Network of Medical Libraries resources. Library content can be accessed from the CMHS Library Website from any location.
➔ Reference Service – upon demand
➔ Literature Search – 2 days
➔ Borrowed Article (Interlibrary Loan) – 1 day
➔ Borrowed Books (Interlibrary Loan) – 1 week

Most new IRB applications take three to four weeks to be approved, depending on the quality and content of the original IRB application. Full Board studies may take longer. The CMHS IRB meets once a month, except January and August. Submissions are due by 5 pm, approximately six weeks prior to the board meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

The Helpdesk and IT department will be working to obtain data for projects that have IRB approval. The shortest expected turnaround time(s) are as follows:
➔ 2 weeks for IT data
➔ 4 weeks for statistical analysis if done through our research department (time may vary depending on availability of statisticians and complexity of analysis)
➔ Time to complete statistical analysis through CSUCI may vary based on availability of faculty

➔ Posters and podium presentations, minimum 3 weeks
➔ Posters should be printed 1-week prior to the presentation deadline
➔ Moderate to large manuscripts, minimum 4-weeks prior to submission deadline
