The CITI Certification Instructions Powerpoint provides a guide to complete required IRB training for human subjects research. The type of course depends on the nature of the study. If you have questions about which course, please speak with GME research staff. In general, the following guidelines apply:
Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery residents and faculty: Biomedical (Biomed) Comprehensive course
Psychiatry residents and faculty: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) – Social and Behavioral Research Best Practices for Clinical Research course
Medical students: Biomedical (Biomed) Comprehensive course
If you are doing an investigational drug trial, medical device trial, or similar clinical trial, you should check with GME research staff, as you may need to take an alternate CITI course.
